Forest fires effect three major areas

Economy

Canada’s rich and abundant forests are great for the economy and are the backbone of the world's wood supply. Unfortunately, Each year tremendous amounts of forest fires come around and ruin our rich and beautiful forests, negatively impacting our economy,

The Process

It all starts with the all three elements of the fire triangle coming together. When all three combine in the forest, they start an uncontrollable fire

It all starts with the all three elements of the fire triangle coming together. When all three combine in the forest, they start an uncontrollable fire

This uncontrollable flame now spreads to nearby cities, wiping out entire neighbouhoods. The governent has to pay to repair these cities

The government is now obligated to fund firefighters and planes to extinguish the fire. Leaving a bigger dent in the Canadian economy.

All, along the way the forest industry lost millions of hectares of trees. Alongside that this cost the Canadian government a lot of money as, it lost a lot of it's largest export, and had to pay millions of dollars to extinguish and repair the damages of the fire

Soil and Organics

Forest soil is rich with nutrients and is high in organic value. When forest fires wipe over soil, they raise its temperature to over 900°c. At temperatures high as this, the soil loses all its organic value This makes replanting trees afterwards , that much harder.

The burnt soil is also darker than the original one. With darker sooil, now the ground will absorb more heat tha usual. With a hotter surface temrature this will contribute to global temrature rise

Soil and Organics

Watershed

When the nutrients and organic compounds in the soil are messed with, it also affects natural layering of soil. This makes the surface of the soil water repellent, negatively affecting infiltration. Now the soil stops absorbing the water. This allows the water to run off into water banks, causing erosions.
